Qatar’s October conversion offer can make existing partner points go further. CIMB Malaysia is explicitly listed, alongside global hotel partners including ALL Accor, IHG, Shangri-La Circle and World of Hyatt. Having another bank’s points does not automatically make that bank eligible.
The offer, eligibility and deadline
Active Privilege Club members who hold points with a participating partner can convert during 1–31 October 2026. The cutoff is 23:59 GMT+3 on 31 October: 04:59 Malaysia time on 1 November. The relevant transaction date is the one the partner reports to Qatar; submit with enough processing time rather than relying on the final minute.
How the tiers work
| Base Avios from one conversion | Bonus rate | Bonus Avios | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 40,000 | 15% | 6,000 | 46,000 |
| 50,000 | 25% | 12,500 | 62,500 |
| 100,000 | 35% | 35,000 | 135,000 |
The threshold is the Avios produced by conversion, not the number of bank reward points surrendered. The examples assume the partner conversion has already produced the stated base Avios. Two separate 50,000-Avios transfers earn 25,000 bonus Avios together; one 100,000-Avios transfer earns 35,000. Transactions are not combined to reach a higher tier.
Before converting CIMB or hotel points
- Check the exact partner, card or account eligibility and conversion ratio.
- Find award seats and compare the cash charges first.
- Check your name and Privilege Club number, then save the transfer receipt.
- Allow for processing and keep enough cash for award-ticket taxes and fees.
Qatar says promotional Avios will arrive by 30 November 2026. Do not plan a booking that depends on the bonus appearing immediately. Hotel points also have a use on hotel stays: compare the room you would give up with the flight you can actually book, rather than transferring just to reach 35%.
